1962-68: TU Delft, Faculty for Electrical Engineering. 1967-69: Royal Netherlands Navy, LTZ E2-KMR. National Aerospace Laboratory NLR: 1969-82: project leader at the NLR Electronics Dept. 1982-88: head of the NLR Flight test and Helicopters Dept: 1988-95: technical director NLR; 1995-20010 general director NLR. Other activities: 1970-88: private pilot licence. 1980-97: part-time professor in Aircraft Instrumentation TU Delft. 1996-98: program director Aeronautics at DLR, 1993-99: visiting professor to ITB, NAL, and Helsinki University. Past member of Garteur Council, NATO RTB, EU TAG, past president ICAS, CEAS and NVvL.
Present functions: Member of EU CS2 Scientific Committee, Chairman Board of CompoWorld and of NedAero. Member advisory Boards of NSO and KNVvL.
Medals & distinctions:
Officer in the NL Royal Order of Oranje Nassau, Honorary Fellow AIAA, CEAS Gold Medal, Fellow RAes, Honorary member PSAA. Honorary member VSV.
